Running cost depends on output and usage. A 1500W panel heater running for one hour uses 1.5 kWh of electricity. At approximately 24p per kWh, that equates to roughly 36p per hour at full output. In practice, a built-in thermostat means the heater cycles on and off to maintain temperature, so actual hourly costs are typically lower than the maximum figure.
Most Adax panel heaters can be wall-mounted and connected to a fused spur without a qualified electrician. However, if the installation requires new fixed wiring – such as adding a fused connection unit or a new circuit – this is notifiable work under Part P of the Building Regulations in England and Wales and must be carried out or certified by a registered electrician.
