The Neo is packed with energy saving features that give a high heat output while maximising efficiency, and together they make it more economical and efficient than traditional electric panel or convector heaters. Efficiency in an electric heater is rarely about the element. It is about how few hours the element has to run, and that is where the Neo puts its effort.

A thermostat that holds
Accurate to 0.5 degrees, so the room sits where you set it instead of overshooting. Every degree of overshoot is electricity you paid for and did not ask for.

Heat only when you are in
24 hour, 7 day programming, plus adaptive start to reach temperature at the moment you asked for rather than an hour early.

Off when a window is open
A 5 degree drop inside 10 minutes switches the heater off, and it picks up again on its own once the room recovers.

Nothing burned, nothing vented
No flue and no combustion: every unit of electricity becomes heat in the room, with no emissions where you live. On a renewable tariff the warmth is as clean as the supply.
These energy saving features make the Neo fully compliant with ECO design ERP Lot 20, the regulation setting the control standard every electric heater sold in the UK has to meet.
Manufacturing

And built the same way.

Made on renewable electricity
ADAX run production on 100% renewable electricity, a combination of hydro, wind and solar. Their painting equipment runs on gas, and with their energy supplier Ignitis they renew forest equivalent to the CO2 they do emit.
A factory that wastes less
Surplus heat from the painting plant is used to heat their own premises, and moving to low temperature painting brought the process down from 200°C to 160°C, cutting the energy it takes to finish every panel.
Packaging you can put in the recycling
New ADAX products ship with no plastic and no polystyrene, and the packaging is approved to Forest Stewardship Council standards, so it does not come at the cost of deforestation.

Control

Everything on the panel. Nothing to set up.

A single button adjusts the temperature, and the LED digital display shows exactly where it is set. The thermostat and the seven day programmer both live in the heater, so nothing here depends on an app, a hub or your broadband. Two programmes come preset and a third is yours to define, which is why most people set the Neo up on the day it goes on the wall and then leave it to run.

Electric thermostat
Accurate to 0.5 degrees and adjustable from 5°C to 30°C, holding the room steady instead of swinging around a set point.

24 hour, 7 day timer
Assign Comfort and reduced modes hour by hour across the week, so the room is heated only when it is used. No programme mode turns the timer off entirely.

Adaptive start
The heater works out how early it needs to switch on so the room reaches temperature at the time you asked for, not an hour later.

Open window detection
A temperature drop of 5 degrees within 10 minutes switches the heater off temporarily, then it resumes on its own.

Anti tamper lock
A child lock that keeps the settings exactly where you left them.

Overheat protection
A built in cut out, so the heater is safe to leave unattended.
Thermostat accuracy is quoted against products using a mechanical bimetal thermoregulator.
Installation

One socket. That is the whole install.

The lightweight body and simple bracket system make this a job for one person and a drill. Everything you need is supplied: two wall brackets, fixings, mounting template and instructions.

Mount
Two wall brackets and the fixings are in the box, and the installation template is printed on the box itself. Mark, drill, hang. Allow 50 mm below, 150 mm above and 50 mm in front of the heater.
Step 02
Plug in
A 3 pin UK plug is already fitted on a 1.2 m flex. One 230 V socket, no electrician needed. It can be hard wired instead if you prefer, and that does not affect the guarantee.
Step 03
Programme
Set the temperature on the panel, then build the week on the built in 24 hour 7 day timer. Two preset programmes and one fully customisable programme are already loaded.

Seven outputs covering small, medium and large sized rooms. Heated area figures are an estimate. More power may be required in rooms with high heat loss, high ceilings or poor insulation. Height is 370 mm and depth 84 mm on every output, so only the width changes.
How it heats

Natural convection. No fan, no noise, no dust.

The aluminium X fin element warms the air, which then circulates evenly through the room on its own. Because there is no fan, dust and particles are not blown around, which makes the Neo a good option for people with allergies. With no moving parts it runs silently.

Design

Slim enough to leave on show.

A flat front and an 84 mm depth keep the heater tight to the wall, with a discreet control panel on the end rather than a display across the face. Two high quality finishes, White RAL 9016 and Lava Grey, in the same 370 mm height across every output, so a whole house reads as one set rather than seven different heaters. The body is mild steel with a smooth flat face, and at 4 to 8.5 kg depending on output it is light enough that the brackets do the work rather than the wall.

    This is a really effective heater – I have a large open plan living/dining room which this heater can heat within 30mins no problem. I always have to turn down the settings after 1 hour as this is a powerful heater. It is the only electric heater I would put on par with a centrally heated radiator. Can’t fault it, and it looks very sleek.

    Very good looking slimline radiator. Good instructions for attaching brackets (only small screws and no rawl plugs supplied though – I used my own). Works really well. I haven’t used the timer facility yet. This one doesn’t come with any legs/stand which I hadn’t noticed with the description – that was ok as I was planning to attach it to the wall eventually but if you need a stand then choose another model. The electric cable comes out at the right hand side. My socket was towards the left but there was enough cable to run it behind the heater and hook it on to the left hand wall bracket with a separate piece of wire so that there isn’t too much trailing cable around.

No idea yet as to cost effectiveness to run. They look very slim on the wall and very contemporary in their design.

    see my other comment for 1000mm rad, the cable for the 2000kw heater needs to be longer so you can plug in where your socket is on the left of the rad. I had to open it up and fit a longer cable, which probably invalidates the guarantee…

    Excellent heater. This 2000KW is our 3rd purchase and got 5 for mother in law whose house is solely heated by these. Heats room quickly to exactly the set temperature and then cuts in and out to maintain it . Very easy to install, smart appearance, easy to run, customer service from adax-solaire is brilliant with prompt next day tracked delivery. Only improvement could be, as other people have mentioned, on the long 2000W heater the length of cable is not long enough to to reach a socket just on the left-hand side of the radiator. It is short by 25cm so plug had to be cut off and re wired to reach socket but it does state in the guarantee that this does not invalidate it. Highly recommended.

    Just bought one of these for our garage conversion, it has never had a fixed heater in it and can be chilly at times. The great thing about these heaters is the electronic control of their output – once you have got one set up for a particular room you can just leave it switched on 24/7 and let the electronics take charge. If the room is naturally warm enough (for example on a sunny day) then the heater just sits there doing nothing, but ready to cut in when required. A very well designed and well thought out product. I’d even consider them for an entire home if I was having to install a complete new system.

    Our kitchen had always been a little cold and after much research the 600W Lava Grey model seemed like a good choice. It was easy to place the order and delivery was fast. Installing the heater took very little time and after setting the time and calibrating the temperature we chose the built in “Home” setting P3 (but set the target temperature to 20 degrees). It has been working perfectly for over a week and the kitchen is now much more welcoming. There are cheaper options but you get what you pay for and this heater justifies its price by its quality.
