WiFi-enabled electric heated towel rails from Adax Solaire connect to the Solaire app on iOS and Android, giving remote control of heating schedules and temperature from anywhere with an internet connection. Seven-day programming allows towels to be warm before you need them, reducing unnecessary energy use. Most models are IP44-rated for bathroom installation and arrive pre-filled with glycol heating fluid, ready to connect to a fused spur.
Everything you need to know
Download the Solaire app on iOS or Android, create an account, and follow the in-app pairing instructions. The towel rail connects to your home 2.4GHz WiFi network. Once connected, you can set a weekly schedule, adjust the target temperature remotely, and turn the rail on or off from anywhere. Call 01325 717 899 if you experience any difficulty during setup.
Yes. The Solaire app allows you to programme a seven-day schedule for the towel rail, setting different on and off periods and target temperatures for each day. This means the rail can be warm in time for your morning routine and switch off automatically when the bathroom is not in use, helping to reduce unnecessary energy consumption.
If the WiFi connection is lost, the towel rail continues to operate on its last active programme or setting stored locally on the unit. You cannot change settings remotely until the connection is restored, but the rail will not stop heating. When WiFi reconnects, the app re-syncs automatically and remote control resumes without needing to re-pair.
A WiFi towel rail consumes the same amount of electricity as an equivalent non-WiFi model at the same output. The WiFi module itself draws a negligible standby power. The efficiency benefit comes from the ability to programme and remotely control the rail precisely, reducing the likelihood of the rail being left on unintentionally, which in practice can lower running costs.
WiFi electric towel rails require the same installation as any other fixed electric towel rail. A qualified electrician must connect the rail to a dedicated fused spur in compliance with BS 7671 and Part P of the Building Regulations. No additional wiring for WiFi is required beyond a standard electrical connection, as the rail connects to your existing home WiFi network.
