Sol*Aire infrared heaters from Adax-Solaire use long-wave radiant heat to warm objects and people directly, rather than heating the air. The range includes flat-panel wall-mounted heaters and infrared mirror heaters, with outputs from approximately 300W upwards. Infrared heat is perceived as warmer at a given air temperature, making these heaters particularly effective in conservatories, sun rooms, hallways, and other spaces with high air turnover. All models are supplied from UK stock.

A conventional electric panel heater warms the air in a room by convection. An infrared heater emits long-wave radiant heat that warms surfaces and people directly, much like the warmth from sunlight through a window. Because infrared heat is not dependent on warm air, it can feel comfortable more quickly and is less affected by draughts.
Certain Sol*Aire infrared mirror models carry the IP ratings required for safe use in bathroom zones 2 and 3. Check the IP rating on each individual product page before purchasing for bathroom use. Installation must be carried out by a qualified electrician in compliance with BS 7671 Part P regulations and the appropriate zone requirements.
Use the same 80W per square metre guide as for conventional electric heaters, but bear in mind that infrared heat is directional. Position the heater so it faces the area where people sit or stand. In rooms with very high ceilings or cold stone walls, increase the wattage by 10-20% above the standard calculation to compensate.
Some Sol*Aire infrared heaters in the Adax-Solaire range are rated for outdoor use on covered patios and pergolas. These models carry the necessary IP rating for outdoor environments. Check the individual product listing for the IP rating and installation requirements. Never install a heater rated for indoor use only in an outdoor location.
The Sol*Aire far-infrared panel heaters do not produce visible light. They emit long-wave infrared radiation that you feel as warmth but cannot see. This makes them suitable for bedroom and living-room use where a glowing element would be unwanted. Quartz halogen infrared heaters, which produce a visible orange glow, are a separate product type not stocked on this site.
